Lead teacher, Course Director

Dionne Myers

Founder of love2yoga and The Rise of SHE

Owner of L2Y Dionne is passionate about yoga and the benefits it has on the mind and body, So much so that her aim for this studio is to make yoga accessible to everyone. Yoga has been a big part of her life for over 20 plus years. She embarked on her first teacher training initially just to learn more about yoga with no plans to start teaching. After a long gap she taught her first a class and has never looked back. She is constantly expanding her yoga knowledge (always saving for her next course and workshop) which has developed her teaching style. Dionne teaches a range of classes from Gentle Yoga,Yin, Restorative, Hatha Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Pregnancy and Postnatal yoga, Fertility yoga, Aerial Chair yoga, and mediation.

Dionne is a Yoga therapist for women wellness after training with her renowned teacher Uma -Tuli Dilsmore. She is a keen advocate that yoga can support women throughout life, from menarche to menopause. Dionne is also a mensuration mentor and can provide women with a better understanding, appreciation to honour their cycles and bleeds.

Dionne creates a friendly flowing yoga class suitable for all. Dionne strongly believes that a regular yoga practice heals the body and the mind and can aid recovery, physical and emotional, from the curve balls life throws at us.

Dionne's personal yoga practice and is Ashtanga Yoga. Supported by senior teacher Dan Burt from House of Ashtanga. Pregnancy/ postnatal teacher is Sally Parkes Yoga and all things spiritual Shakti, Womb, wellness , Bhakti and Yoga Nidra is Uma Tuli Dinsmore.and Sivani Frances Mata.

As a yoga teacher there’s nothing Dionne loves more than seeing the benefits yoga can bring to people, regardless of their ability, age and circumstances.

Ashtanga Lead

Dan Burt

Founder of House of Ashtanga

With over 19 years’ experience practicing and teaching, Dan Burt’s House of Ashtanga has grown to be one of the most well-known and respected yoga studios in the UK and Europe. Although largely self-taught and practicing the advanced series, Dan has had the opportunity of working with many well-known teachers, such as Nancy Gilgoff and David Swenson.

Known for his hands-on adjustment technique, Dan teaches workshops to yoga students as well as training other ashtanga yoga teachers throughout England and Europe but can usually be found teaching regular classes throughout the week in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Dan teaches students right from beginners all the way through to advanced in a time-honoured and traditional style that works no matter what your body type, age, or background. Everyone can benefit from this invigorating, challenging, healing and rewarding yoga practice

One of Dan’s main precepts is to encourage students to develop a true passion and love for ashtanga yoga, working from the heart. Ashtanga yoga is often viewed as the most challenging form of asana and although it is a very vigorous and intense practice, Dan’s students often find that over time practice becomes very soft, relaxed and energetic with a lightness in the body that derives from dynamic breathing and bandha techniques. Practice with passion!
